Source: Date:2024-09-06

On August 27, 2024, the 11th Asia-Pacific International Symposium on Advanced Reliability and Maintenance Modeling (APARM 2024) was held in Nagoya, Japan. The conference brought together top reliability researchers from the Asia-Pacific region to discuss the latest research advancements and share best practices, aiming to address the diverse reliability challenges facing society today. The symposium provided an important platform for promoting international cooperation in the field of reliability and maintainability modeling.

At this conference, the research group led by Professor Cai Zhiqiang from the School of Mechanical Engineering won the APARM 2024 Best Student Paper Award. The awarded paper is titled: "Aero-engine Remaining Useful Life Prediction with Missing Data Using Diffusion Model."

This paper focuses on the impact of missing data in aero-engine condition monitoring on the prediction accuracy of deep learning models. It proposes an innovative data imputation method named DiffFMD. By effectively filling in the missing data, this method significantly improves the accuracy of remaining useful life prediction, demonstrating the group's important progress in reliability research for complex systems.

This award fully recognizes the outstanding research achievements of Professor Cai Zhiqiang's group in the field of reliability and maintainability modeling, further highlighting our school's leading position in the international academic community. In the future, Professor Cai Zhiqiang's group will continue its dedication to exploring cutting-edge scientific issues and technological innovation, aiming to make even greater contributions to advancing the field of reliability and maintainability modeling.
