On June 16, the "U.S. News 2026-2027 World University Subject Rankings" were officially released. Our university's Mechanical Engineering discipline ranked first globally in the world university subject rankings, securing a place among the 23 top-tier disciplines from mainland Chinese universities. This historic breakthrough fully demonstrates the significant enhancement of our university's international reputation and comprehensive influence in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

The U.S. News Best Global Universities Rankings, launched by the authoritative American media outlet U.S. News & World Report and first published in 2014, are among the most prominent social evaluation systems for higher education, alongside the QS World University Rankings, the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). These rankings are widely recognized and referenced within the global research community and for overseas academic深造 (further studies). The rankings are based on data sourced from the authoritative Clarivate Web of Science research database and simultaneously release global overall rankings, regional rankings, country-specific rankings, and rankings for 51 specific subject areas.

The Mechanical Engineering discipline at Northwestern Polytechnical University was selected as one of the first national "World-Class Disciplines" in 2017, was evaluated by the Ministry of Education in 2021 as having achieved remarkable results in its development, and now ranks first globally in the 2026 U.S. News World University Subject Rankings.
