He Ying, a sophomore in Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering from the School of Mechanical Engineering, won the Best Poster Award at the 21st IEEE International Conference on Nano/Micro Engineered and Molecular Systems (NEMS 2026), held in Chengdu, China.

Under the supervision of Professor Tao Kai, she presented two papers, including a first-authored work on bio-inspired soft flapping-wing robots. Her research achieved a peak lift of 67.6% of the robot's body weight using an electro-hydraulic actuation system.

This achievement highlights the strong undergraduate research culture at NPU's School of Mechanical Engineering, which actively involves students in cutting-edge projects through platforms like the Key Laboratory of Micro/Nano Systems for Aerospace and the "Micro/Nano精灵" Innovation Base.

He Ying's success demonstrates the school's commitment to nurturing future innovators who are ready to shine on the international academic stage.
